AKIDA's founders previously served as System Consultants and were constantly challenged to route data from manufacturing and process plants to existing computer networks. With the advent of the digital age, capital intensive manufacturing and factory process control equipment require continuous monitoring of real time data. AKIDA wanted to develop a state of the art system for routing data from the computer unfriendly environment on manufacturing shop floors and process plants to PC based networks and the Internet. Current systems are typically based on PLC's which offer little flexibility and cannot meet the speed and communication protocols of today's Internet based data networks. High speed telecommunication routers require a clean and temperature controlled environments and can not survive in an aggressive industrial environment. AKIDA's technical team utilized Controller Area Network technology which has a proven track record in aggressive environments to develop a high speed data acquisition controller and automation system. Our CANdat hardware's unique design allows RJ45 connectivity using standard CAT5 cables and is Internet and wireless ready. Our CAN technology is the key to bridging the gap between where data is being created and where the data can be analyzed. AKIDA is developing applications based on this state of the art hardware and software and is working with OEM's interested in utilizing the hardware and software to improve their products. |
